American Oak

The best quality American oak comes mostly from the eastern half of the United States and the south east of Canada. Flat-cut wood has an attractive grain pattern with a light colour. This colour can vary from light yellowish-brown or medium brown in the heartwood to white in the sapwood.

American oak is available in 3 different grades

Prime:	Even colouring; knot-free and sapwood-free.
Select:	Small natural shades of colour can occur. Knots up to approx. 20 mm are admissible; sapwood can occur in small amounts.
Rustic:	Greater variations in colour can occur. Also greater (healthy) knots and sapwood are admissible.
